Cradle cap is a type of seborrheic dermatitis or severe dandruff that affects newborn babies. The exact mechanism and cause is unknown, however, it is speculated that this common newborn condition is caused by the mother´s hormones which transferred to the baby during the last trimester of pregnancy.
